Web Design Principles

In This design I like how the title is the biggest thing on the website, and how there is header at the top of the page so you know where to go to look at the imformation you want to find. Also i like how the pictures look, they draw your attention and makes u want to read more.

Magazine Cover Assignment

Balance/Contrast
  • The Main picture is centred on the page
  • I put the heading at the top of the page in big letters and the print at the bottom is small
Rhythm/Repetition
  • I put smaller photos of different types of corvettes on my cover
  • While the images change, the style of the images stay the same
Emphasis/Repetition
  • I used big front for the heading at the top of the page
  • The front for the tittle is different then the front for the subheading

Unity/Proximity
  • The picture is lined up with the text
  • Only 3 different fronts appear on the cover

Fair Dealing and Copyright in Canada

Research-  students can use and make copies of work for research. But the stuff copied cannot have more than 10% of the work. Also if the research is to be published, the works used may not be included.

Review- People use parts of movie trailers or famous videos and  they are aloud to put short clips of the movies or videos in there video without being copyrighted.

Eduction-  Depends On the type of work, anywhere from 10% to all of the work can be copied for educational use only.

News reporting- A student can use stuff from news articles as long as they put where they got it from example if they got it off any new site online or any other new article, they would have to put that in the news report where they got there information.

Note: If you are using an audiovisual or sound recording found on the Internet, you may show it in class only if you reasonably think that the copyright holder permitted its use on-line (e.g., an episode of This Hour Has 22 Minutes is posted in the on-line catalogue at CBC.ca).
